Getting Started with AWS
To begin using AWS, you first need to create an account. The following requirements are necessary to create an AWS account:
- A valid email address
- A credit or debit card
Step 1: Sign Up for an AWS Account
Visit the AWS sign-up page at the following link:
Enter your email address and account name, then click Verify.
After entering your email address, AWS will send a verification code to your inbox. Retrieve the code from your email and enter it to verify your email address.
Next, you need to set up your root user password. Simply choose and enter a secure password.

Step 2: Enter Personal Information
After verifying your email and setting your password, you will be asked to provide your phone number and address.

Step 3: Enter Payment Information
You will need to enter your credit or debit card details (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Union Pay).
Note: In this course, we will primarily use the AWS Free Tier, so you will only be charged a small amount or nothing at all.

Step 4: Sign In to the AWS Console
Once you have successfully signed up, you can log in to the AWS Management Console using the following link:
Click on Sign In to the Console at the top right corner.

Since you signed up using a root user, click on Sign In using root user email and enter the email and password you just registered.

Step 5: Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
The first time you sign in, AWS will prompt you to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Use an authentication app or any other method that suits you.
Recommendation: Setting up 2FA is highly recommended for securing your AWS account.
